Cornerstone Consulting Group (or CCG as we refer to them in the office), have supported us with general HR, recruitment and some training. It's easy to forget to dot the I’s and cross the T's with recruitment and performance management, but they drive the processes and policies that keep us on track. They have held us to a high standard and supported delivery. The team are responsive, thoughtful, considered and knowledgeable. As a result, CCG have become a trusted partner.

I couldn’t recommend Cornerstone Consulting Group more highly. Riley and Jasmine have been an incredible support to me and my business. They have consistently gone above and beyond in the support they’ve provided. They have taken the time to genuinely understand my business, my team and where I’m trying to go. Their guidance has helped me navigate not only people and HR decisions, but also think more clearly about growth, planning and the bigger picture of running a business. What I value most is having Riley and Jasmine as trusted sounding boards. They are approachable, practical and incredibly generous with their knowledge, while also being willing to challenge my thinking and offer a different perspective when I need it. They truly feel like an extension of my team. I’m very grateful for their support and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cornerstone to any business owner looking for exceptional HR guidance from people who genuinely care about the businesses they work with.

I needed help with obtaining a contract for my own employee and also HR help for one of my current clients. These people are awesome - quick and efficient turn around and very commercial. Dealing with a HR expert has been a much more streamlined, efficient and smoother experience then trying to work directly with a commercial lawyer. If you need anything HR related go straight to Cornerstone.

Working with Cornerstone Consulting Group has genuinely been one of the best decisions we've made. Over the past two years, Grace and the team have helped us completely transform our HR and WHS systems. They've guided us through policy reviews, ISO requirements, workplace compliance, recruitment, employment matters, and more, always making what feels overwhelming seem manageable. What stands out most is that they never treat us like just another client. They take the time to understand our business, explain things in plain English, and provide practical advice that actually works in the real world. Their support has given me the confidence to tackle projects I never thought I'd be leading. Grace has been patient, knowledgeable, responsive, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Knowing we have Cornerstone in our corner gives our team real peace of mind. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cornerstone Consulting Group to any business looking for professional, approachable HR and WHS support. Thank you for everything you've helped us achieve.

Experts in their field! Super knowledgeable and will go above and beyond to meet your business needs. Would definitely recommend!

Turn a good tradesperson into a supported supervisor

Being good at the work and managing people are different responsibilities. A leading hand may suddenly need to allocate work, address lateness, give feedback and keep a record of what was agreed.

We help clarify the supervisor’s role, prepare practical guidance and support difficult conversations. That can include setting expectations, planning probation check-ins and working through performance concerns with the business owner.

Make the first week more consistent

When a new starter is joining a busy crew, paperwork and follow-up can end up spread between the owner, office and site supervisor. A clear process gives each person a part to play.

We can help prepare contracts, role descriptions and induction checklists, organise employee records and establish review points. Your technical and safety requirements can sit alongside that HR process, with responsibility for each step made clear.

Check the employment arrangements behind the work

The right starting point is your business’s activities, each person’s duties and any applicable agreement. A job title on its own does not settle which award or classification applies.

We help gather the relevant information, review employment documents and identify questions about hours, allowances or other conditions for advice. If a broader review is needed, an HR Health Check provides a prioritised action plan over 4–6 weeks.

Your first step

Start with the issue slowing you down

You may have a new supervisor who needs support, an employee concern that needs attention, or several different contract templates in use. Tell us what is happening and we’ll agree a sensible first piece of work.

Our typical clients have around 10–150 employees. After an initial conversation, we’ll recommend retainer, hourly or project support to suit your business. We can also provide extra capacity alongside an existing HR professional.

Meet the CCG team

Useful information for our first conversation

  • The roles in your crew and office
  • Current contracts and any known award or agreement
  • The issue, deadline or change you want help with

You do not need every document ready to book a conversation.

Common questions

Getting the right HR support.

Can you work with a small trade business?

Yes. Our typical clients have around 10–150 employees. We’ll recommend retainer, hourly or project support after understanding your business and what you need.

Can you support our office manager or bookkeeper?

Yes. We can work alongside the people already coordinating your employment records and payroll, clarifying the HR decisions and information they need. We agree who owns each action before work starts.

Do you manage site safety or trade licensing?

This page covers HR and employment support. We can help connect induction records and employee responsibilities with your existing processes. Any technical safety, licensing or specialist advice needed should be identified separately in the scope.

For general award information, see Fair Work’s awards guidance. For support in another sector, explore our industries.

How we work together

Let’s make your next step clear.

01

Tell us what’s happening

Book a free consultation. We’ll discuss your business, your team and the HR issue or priority you want to work through.

02

Choose the right support

We’ll recommend a project, hourly advice or ongoing HR support. We agree the scope, fees and next steps with you before work starts.

03

Work alongside your team

We gather the relevant information, work through the agreed priorities and help you put the advice and documents into use.

You can start with a defined project or hourly advice. Ongoing retainers are 12-month agreements; we’ll explain the terms before you decide. An HR Health Check generally takes 4–6 weeks.
