Modern Awards can be tricky to interpret and apply. The process involves working out which award applies to each employee, then ensuring you’re meeting all the requirements — from pay rates and leave entitlements to hours of work and other conditions.

Employment Classifications
Full-time – Standard hours (usually 38 per week) with full leave and benefits.
Part-time – Regular, guaranteed hours less than full-time, with pro-rata leave and benefits.

Entitlements
Leave – Annual, personal/carer’s, parental, and other leave types accrue differently depending on classification.
